I feel that if flights are banned from the affected countries, the people who wish to travel, will go underground to get to their destination, and there wouldn’t be any control or testing.

    We are safer with testing.

I think until things are under control, that there should be a ban on any travel into or out of Africa at this time.

The only common sense thing to do would be to ban all flights to and from West Africa, i.e. quarantine Ebola. The temperature testing in airports will not help as the nurse with the low grade fever and now has Ebola would have passed that airport fever test. However, doubtless the CDC head received instructions from above (The CDC is after all a federal agency) to reassure the public that the US was not vulnerable in order to prevent widespread panic. By doing so and not giving out the truth about our risk and preparedness the CDC has lost credibility and the responsibility for the panic lays strictly at their feet and the President.
