Shadow:no shadowOne Way to Eliminate Shadows from Your Photos
Yesterday’s travel tip was to clean your camera lenses. As you can tell from the photos in this post, I sometimes forget to heed my own advice. But they do demonstrate one way to avoid shadows in your photos, which is to have one of your subjects step forward as Natalie did in the second photo (on the bottom).

You can also use flash, often called “fill flash”. The subjects’ faces will be brighter, but the overall image will not be washed out, since the camera will read the entire area.

Better yet, force the flash to turn on while taking the picture to eliminate shadows. If the background is bright, always force a flash picture. Most camera’s have this feature and usually in the program mode where you can adjust ISO, flash and closeup settings.

    Good afte3rnoon Johnny,
Luv your e-mails! They have already “saved” me $$$$. One question, whenever I surf the travel websites, they appear to keep a record of all of my previous surfing on their site. For example, if I see a price of $500.00 for a particular flight, they appear to log this price and try to prevent me from finding a better deal. Has anyone else complained about this? Is there a way around it?
Thank you for all of your help and great ideas,
    Sincerely,
    Steve

It’s amazing how the simple things can make such a huge difference! A great tip to remember on our travels to Mexico in a couple of weeks. Thanks, Rob
