U.S. airlines are offering change fee waivers to flyers affected by the California wildfiresYesterday, in the shadow of the still-raging wildfires in California, we shared a list of suggested dos and don’ts for people moving back home after evacuating. Meanwhile, the Camp Fire (in Northern California) is already the deadliest in the state’s history, and the Woolsey Fire and Hill Fire (both in Southern California) have burned a combined 100,000+ acres. The nightmare, for many people, remains real.

In response, many of the major U.S. airlines have announced that they will temporarily waive change fees on flights to/from the affected areas in California. All six below have offered some form of amended policy to flyers. Harriet Baskas of Stuck at the Airport has a full rundown of policies—and the additional note that American Airlines “will also give you 10 miles for every dollar you donate to the American Red Cross on donations of $25 or more.” Here’s more on the up-to-date policies straight from each airline:
