These days I pay for pretty much everything with one of my credit cards (which charge no foreign transaction fees). That means I carry very little cash, even when I travel internationally. However, when I’m driving, I always try to remember to bring some cash to use as a tip for a valet, in case I use one. Valet drivers don’t always have change, especially when they’re just starting their shift, and it takes time to go inside and find someone to make change.
