The popularity of takeout and restaurant delivery apps has been exploding these past few months thanks to the stay-at-home orders and the need for contactless delivery. There are several credit cards that cater to DoorDash and Uber Eats services. It’s possible to get free delivery credits and waive some fees with one of these cards. Here are some of the best options you can have in your wallet.

Best Credit Cards for DoorDash and Uber Eats

American Express Gold Card
The American Express® Gold Card is a good option for maximizing travel and food purchases, including for DoorDash and Uber Eats (particularly Uber Eats). This card earns 4x Membership Rewards on restaurant purchases (includes takeout and delivery). The first $25,000 in annual purchases at U.S. supermarkets also earn 4x Membership Rewards per $1, (then 1x point thereafter).
Flights booked directly from the airline and on AmexTravel.com earn 3 points per $1.
Cardmembers can also get up to $120 in annual dining credits ($10 per month) for Grubhub, Seamless, Cheesecake Factory, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Boxed, and select Shake Shack locations. Enrollment is required.
American Express® Gold Card cardholders can also get up to $120 in Uber Cash annually. Plus, you’ll earn 4x Membership Rewards® points for each Uber Eats purchase on your card. To use this perk, simply add your card to your Uber account and you’ll automatically get $10 in Uber Cash each month in your Uber account for U.S. Uber Eats orders or U.S. Uber rides. Any unused Uber Cash expires at the end of each month (it does not roll over to the next month).
Cardholders also get up to 12 complimentary months of Eats Pass when you subscribe with your American Express Gold Card. That’s a value of up to $119 annually (based on the $9.99 monthly price over 12 months). With the Uber Eats Pass, you can get unlimited $0 Delivery Fees and 5% off orders over $15 at eligible restaurants. Note that taxes and service fees may apply and do not count toward the order minimum.
This benefit applies only in the U.S. on U.S. orders at eligible restaurants and on eligible restaurant purchases.

New cardmembers can qualify for a limited-time welcome bonus of 60,000 Membership Rewards ($600 value) after spending $4,000 in the first 6 months. Also, Rose Gold is back! Cardholders can choose between Gold or Rose Gold.

Chase Sapphire Reserve
The Chase Sapphire Reserve® can be the best credit card for DoorDash purchases, though Uber Eats purchases still earn rewards. This premium card has a couple of DoorDash benefits. First, you get up to $120 in DoorDash statement credits ($60 in 2020 and $60 in 2021).
Another perk is at least one year of free DoorDash DashPass. This subscription normally costs $9.99 per month ($119.88/year). DashPass benefits include a $0 delivery fee and reduced service fees on a minimum of $12 orders. Cardholders must activate this offer by 12/31/2021.
Dining purchases (including delivery and takeout) earns 3 Ultimate Rewards per $1. Travel purchases also earn 3x points per $1, immediately after the cardholder earns the $300 travel credit. Each issue is worth 1.5 cents each for award travel. Transferring points at a 1:1 ratio to airline and hotel partners is another option.
The $300 annual travel credit can also apply to gas station and grocery store purchases until Dec. 31, 2021.
Other Sapphire Reserve Perks
There are a couple of other Sapphire Reserve partner benefits. Through December 31, 2021, you can get up to $120 in statement credits for Peloton Digital and All-Access Memberships.
Lyft Pink membership is complimentary for one year (must activate by March 31, 2022). Benefits include 15% off Lyft rides. Also, all Lyft purchases earn 10x Ultimate Rewards through March 2022.
New Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardmembers can earn 60,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening, worth $900 toward travel when redeemed through Chase Ultimate Rewards®.
The annual fee is $550 for the primary card and $75 per authorized user.

The Platinum Card from American Express
The Platinum Card® from American Express is the best option for Uber Eats. Each month, cardmembers get a $15 Uber Cash credit (more in December) for Uber rides and eats. Terms apply.

- Prepaid hotels booked with American Express Travel earn unlimited 5x points.

Chase Sapphire Preferred Card
The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card excels at offering DoorDash benefits with a reasonable annual fee. Like the premium Sapphire Reserve, the Sapphire Preferred offers a minimum of one year of free DoorDash DashPass for unlimited $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on $12+ orders. Activate your card by December 31, 2021, to take advantage of the DoorDash perks.
Cardholders also earn 5x points on Lyft rides, through March 2022.
Additionally, cardholders can earn up to $60 in statement credits on Peloton Digital and All-Access Memberships through December 31, 2021. Points are worth 25% more now through Sept. 30, 2021, when redeemed for statement credits against existing purchases in select, rotating categories with the Chase Pay Yourself Back feature. Points are also worth 25% more when redeemed through the new Chase Dining hub in Ultimate Rewards, now through Sept. 30, 2021.

Chase Freedom Flex
The Chase Freedom Flex℠ is a good option for earning dining rewards, including for DoorDash and Uber Eats, without an annual fee. For instance, you get 3% back on restaurant, takeout, and food delivery app purchases. Plus, cardmembers get 3 months of complimentary DoorDash DashPass and 50% off the monthly fee for the remaining 9 months (normally $9.99/month).
Purchase rewards include:
- 5% cash back in combined purchases for quarterly bonus categories (on the first $1,500)
- 5% cash back on travel purchases through Chase Ultimate Rewards
- 3% cash back on dining and restaurants
- 3% cash back on drugstore purchases
