Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority Card
The Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card is one of the best airline credit cards because of the extra perks you get flying Southwest.
Your annual Southwest Airlines benefits include:
- $75 Southwest travel credit
- 4 Upgraded Bookings (when available)
- 7,500-anniversary points for every card renewal
Cardholders earn 2x points per $1 spent on Southwest purchases. All non-bonus spending earns 1x point per $1 spent.
New cardholders can earn 40,000 points after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months. Plus, earn 3X points on dining, including takeout and eligible delivery services, for the first year.
Your first 2 checked bags also fly for free. Your points don’t expire either.
This card does have a $149 annual fee. But once you redeem the annual $75 travel credit, the effective annual fee is $74. Seventy-four dollars is less than the mid-tier Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card of $99, which offers fewer travel benefits.
Owning the Priority Card makes it easier to earn the Southwest Companion Pass®. Earning the Pass means you only need to pay fees and taxes (usually $5.60 each way) for your travel companion’s seat.
Citi Double Cash Card
You will need a good to excellent credit score for this card. Even with a 750 credit score, cash rewards can be a better reward option. To earn cash back, you must pay at least the minimum due on time.
While this is one of the best travel credit cards with no annual fees, there is a 3% foreign transaction fee. You will want to consider using another card on this list if you travel abroad and still want to earn rewards points. Or, consider one of these best credit cards for international travel.
