Whether you are a solo entrepreneur or have a team of employees, a business cell phone is a necessity for most small businesses. The best credit cards for cell phones let you earn cash rewards or travel rewards for this recurring business expense. They also come with other business perks. Which do you prefer?
As exemplified in the best business credit cards for office supplies post, credit cards often pay bonus points on Internet and cable services in addition to cell phone service. This makes it possible to earn cash or travel rewards on the business purchases you use to communicate with your clients. Some of the cards listed below are also featured in our best business credit cards with no annual fee list.
Chase Ink Business Cash Credit Card
The Chase Ink Business Cash℠ Credit Card doesn’t charge an annual fee and earns some of the highest rewards for cell phone expenses. You get 5% cash back in the first $25,000 in combined spending at office supply stores and Internet, phone, and cable services.
The first $25,000 in combined spending for gas stations and restaurants earns 2% back. All non-bonus spending earns an unlimited 1% back. All points are worth 1 cent each and redeemable for travel, cash, Apple, or gift card rewards.
One nice advantage of the best Chase business credit cards is that landline phone service plans also qualify for bonus points.
This card doesn’t provide cell phone insurance, but you can still get up to extended warranty protection and purchase protection on select purchases. Another unique perk is the primary rental car collision and damage protection. This coverage covers rental car damage up to the car’s cash value.
You also have the chance to earn $500 bonus cash by spending $3,000 within the first 3 months of account opening.
Chase Ink Business Preferred Credit Card
Using the Chase Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card lets you earn 3 points per $1 spent on the first $150,000 in combined spending for select business purchases. These categories are:
- Internet, phone and cable services
- Shipping purchases
- Social media and search engine advertising
All non-bonus spending earns 1 point per $1 spent on the Preferred, one of the best rewards credit cards.
You also get cell phone protection up to $600 per claim for theft and damage. Up to 3 claims per year can be filed with a $100 deductible per claim. That is a great perk and one that is always fun to be reminded of in your bookkeeping service in your year-end review.
This card is ideal if you like redeeming points for business travel. Each point is worth 1 cent each when redeemed for cash rewards. However, they are worth 1.25 cents each when booking travel on the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal. You might even get more value when transferring points to airline and hotel loyalty program partners like Southwest Airlines, World of Hyatt, and United Airlines and book directly through them.
The Ink Business Preferred Credit Card has a $95 annual fee. To help offset the fee for the first year, you can earn 100,000 bonus Ultimate Rewards points after spending $15,000 in the first 3 months. These points are worth up to $1,250 in award travel.
