Bring a small screwdriverEach Friday, we feature a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from reader Jay M. from Tucson, AZ, who says:

“When traveling I always carry a small screwdriver, or something that will work as one. Why, you ask? I can’t tell you how many times I have to use it to tighten a loose water faucet or shower faucet handle. Or, gross, a toilet seat. And it does not matter what level of accommodations I am in, two to five stars. Better then having handles come off in your hand or wiggling around when you sit down. And it amazes me that housekeeping never sees this stuff when they are cleaning the rooms everyday. Cheers to all!”

Note that to bring a screwdriver in a carry-on, it must be smaller than seven inches! Larger screwdrivers must be checked. Thanks, Jay!

I always carry my Swiss Knife in my checked bag-very useful for a lot of things, especially the wine bottle opener. Cheers!!
