THE BREAKERS

    The Breakers' Video

As you can probably tell my dad had a fantastic time spending his birthday at The Breakers. There is so much to do we didn't even get a chance to play golf at one of their two championship courses or visit their world-class spa. I guess we will just have to go back. (Twist my arm!) Above is a quick two-minute video that I made of our stay. I hope you enjoy it half as much as I liked making it.

RATES: BTW: From January 4 to April 27, 2010, guests earn $100 or $200 in nightly credits per room, based on type of accommodations, that can be applied to numerous resort amenities, from dining to recreation to shopping. Winter rates start at $499 (per room per night) to earn $100 nightly credits. TheBreakers.com

    MEDIA ALERT
SOME OF LAST WEEK'S READER AIR-eMAIL
    • I have been very busy at work and fell behind about 3 newsletters. I especially liked the last two where you took your dad on his first cruise. Having lost my own father 5+ years ago, please cherish every moment you have with him. You both looked like you were having such a great time together. I'm glad he took you up on your offer! Geof O'Connor - San Diego

    • Really love reading about cruising experiences. We are used to small (500-700 passengers) all-inclusive cruise ships and cannot imagine being on these large (huge) floating hotels. I look forward to the time when "JohnnyJet" has sampled enough cruises in each category (mainstream, premium and luxury) so that he can make comparisons. While many comparisons have been done in the past, no one can else will have the unique insight that he has? Jackie R - Bellingham, WA

    • First, your cruise report echoes delightful times we've experienced. Do the Panama Canal some time—and not just in and out, but all the way through. Second, with regard to Jerusalem, we lived there and we have escorted several Living Lands of the Bible tours (most recently this past spring). Reading your story was like listening to our own LLB members. Third, awhile back you ran a brief blurb about some quick survey which, if one participated, would earn some airline miles. We did. Which airline? We've never been credited. You stated you were credited in hours. Fourth (and finally), a welcome aboard to (new?) editor Amy. If she insists on fact-checking, fixes syntax issues, and polishes punctuation, JJ's weekly trips will be all the more enjoyable for us who travel with you vicariously. Pastor Dick - Happy Valley, Oregon

    • You're a great son! It's wonderful that you can spend quality time with your Dad like this. Keep it up, time is fleeting. Judy S. – Naples, FL

    • I saw your Seabourn video on YouTube. We missed you by just one week -- we cruised on the Odyssey from Malaga to Fort Lauderdale. Our 2nd Seabourne cruise. Love it! Regards, Jim V -

    • Heard you on WGN today...cool ideas! Thanks, Adina - Chicago

    • SUE
    • Your weekly newsletter is so informative! I enjoy following you around the world. This week, I enjoyed reading the Bermuda article, as I have been thinking about visiting, It convinced me to do so, as Sue Facter's description of the island far surpassed my expectations. Those beaches look gorgeous. Alicia Davies

    • Just read the Bermuda article. I've been to most of the places, including the Waterlot (fabulous) and to the island many times. Your article was right on and informative to a first-timer! Lorraine M - Oakland, NJ

    • I read the story and I myself love to travel, and see interested places and never went to Bermuda and just reading sues story it makes me want to go there some time soon, I have friends leave on the island and always invited me over but never have the urgent to go they because I also hear they talk about the waters and problem the country has to depended on rain water but planning my next vacation I will consider Bermuda. The story well put together well explained everything about the island. Evelyn Berkeley
