Ask the hotel for a lightweight blanketI was recently staying at the Delray Sands Resort in south Florida, which as I wrote here is a lovely hotel. But the comforters there, like the comforters at most hotels, are too heavy for my liking. After two restless nights of sleep in which I was too hot, I called down and asked if I could have a lightweight blanket instead. Within two minutes, a housekeeper was at my door with just that, and I slept like a baby from that point on.

If you don’t like the comforter at your hotel, you can always ask the staff if they can replace it. They won’t always be able to, but you may as well find out. It could be the difference between an okay night’s sleep to a great one.
