Keeping hotel curtains closed

If you’ve spent a lot of nights in hotel rooms, you’ve probably experienced the frustration of window curtains that won’t fully close. Well, last Thursday a Twitter user named Rick Klau shared a great tip for keeping hotel curtains closed:

Not every hotel room will have hangers with clips, of course. But if you need help keeping hotel curtains closed, check the closet. It’s a great tip, but that’s not even the whole story.

After Rick shared his tip, many people on Twitter began responding with their own travel tips. And now the tweet thread includes more than 75,000 comments, many of which are great travel tips, too. Not every tweet is helpful (it’s Twitter), but many are. For example, two users suggested bringing clothespins or chip clips for additional help keeping hotel curtains closed. Another says you should “always check the bottom of your iron for melted plastic from other people’s clothes” as “it will ruin your clothes.” If you like travel tips, the thread is worth looking through.
