Today’s tip is another cruise tip pulled from the MSN story referenced in this cruise tip. It concerns the cancelation policies of certain cruise lines:

“If you don’t have travel insurance, you’re probably out of luck if you get sick or have to cancel your cruise due to other unforeseeable circumstances. Cruise line cancellation policies are notoriously unforgiving, complex, and inconsistent. Be sure to read the fine print because some cruise lines, such as Holland America and Norwegian, view a simple name change as a cancellation!”

So yes, make sure you know the fine print—and don’t make any changes to your reservation before you know what’s at stake. As for insurance, I never travel without it. I have an annual policy from Allianz, a partner of mine, which you can read about here.
