Cash back credit cards are a popular topic on Reddit. Your best option depends on if you want a flat-rate or tiered rewards card. As cash back cards usually don’t offer many additional benefits, it usually makes sense to choose the best travel credit cards with no annual fees.
The Citi® Double Cash Card is the best flat-rate card because you earn up to 2% back on every $1 spent. You earn 1% when you buy plus an additional 1% when you pay for your purchases. Most flat-rate cards only offer up to 1.5% back on purchases.
For tiered rewards, the Chase Freedom is a perennial favorite. You can earn 5% back on the first $1500 spent on rotating bonus categories and 1% for everything else. This card earns Chase Ultimate Rewards points which are worth 1 cent each when redeemed for cash, travel, gift card, or Amazon.com credit.
The Capital One® Savor® Cash Rewards Credit Card is another top choice as you get 4% back on dining and entertainment. However, you do pay a $95 annual fee starting the second year. If your spending doesn’t offset the fee, the Capital One® SavorOne® Cash Rewards Credit Card is fee-free and still earns 3% back on dining and entertainment plus 2% on groceries.
