If you lose your passport while traveling abroad, what do you do? In Austria, you can now go to McDonald’s to sort things out.

As written in Lonely Planet, a new partnership between the U.S. Embassy in Vienna and McDonald’s means that “American citizens who need to contact the embassy can now go into any of the 194 McDonald’s in Austria, where they’ll be given a 24/7 number and a phone to make the call, if needed.” The restaurant chain is supposedly not being paid for its participation, which was the embassy’s idea. Hopefully you don’t need embassy assistance in Austria for a lost passport or any other reason, but now you know!
