New Citi card designs came out in May 2021 that can highlight the card you’re traveling with. The card redesigns apply to the four cards that earn Citi ThankYou points and have the ability to make contactless payments. Another piece of good news? There are no benefit changes.

The new Citi card designs are perfect to use for a summer getaway, such as here at The Lido.

Citi began issuing the new card designs on May 14, 2021. The new design prominently displays the card name in the center of the card front. The background design is modern yet subtle to avoid distractions.

Qualifying Citi cards include:

New applicants will receive the new card design beginning in mid-May 2021. Existing cardholders will receive the new design a few weeks before their current card expires.

It’s also possible for cardholders to request an updated design at no extra cost if their card isn’t expiring soon. The cardmember will need to contact Citi after May 14, 2021, to submit a request.

I think the new designs look terrible.

  2. Jereth|

Will the new Citi Prestige card design also be made out of metal?

    1. Johnny Jet Editorial|

I don’t believe the release mentions it being a metal card.

  3. Jereth|

Wow! If they go back to plastic, being a premium card, I may end up cancelling it. Not to mention all the benefits that have been lost/downgraded in the past two years. I will request a new card on 05/14/2021 and will post my thoughts. If anyone happen to get their hands on the new Citi Prestige card design, please feel free to share.

I would assume they would keep it the same. But like you said, they have already given it a haircut on benefits. And I’ve seen other banks downgrade from metal already. Keep us posted!

  4. Jereth|

I finally got my hands on the new Citi Prestige credit card design. I can confirm it is made out of metal and weighs the same as the older card (17 grams). To be honest I’m not as disappointed as I thought I was going to be. I still think Citi could have done a much better job creating a premium, modern, and minimalist looking card design.

Good to hear. Thanks for the data point!
