reader-travel-tip2Grab a Hotel Business Card
Each Friday, we feature a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from reader Rob, who says:

“I always grab the business card for any hotel I stay in because it usually contains the email address of that hotel, because it is almost impossible in a lot of cases to contact hotels of the major chains directly. I photograph it then dispose of the card. So if you have any kind of dispute or questions, left property, etc., after you leave, you can contact them directly. I am going through this at the moment with the Best Western LAG. They charged me dollars for a room night that I paid for with points. By having their direct email address (the GM’s in this case) I have been able to contact them directly.”

Of course, a hotel business card also has the physical address of the place you’re staying—which can also come in handy. Thanks, Rob!

Another way to have all the info you need regarding your hotel is to take a picture of the confirmation from your cell phone. Also, that email would be available on your phone if you forward it to yourself prior to leaving for your travels.
