Each Friday, we feature a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from reader Chris H., who says:

“On one of my last trips I ran into an issue when I tried to pull up my airline app on my phone to display my boarding pass and found that the servers were down and I could not access it. I was lucky though because I happened to have a paper backup. Since then I have decided to take a screenshot of the boarding pass just in case I can’t access the app for some reason.”

I do this all the time—and, when possible, I bring a paper boarding pass, as well. Thanks, Chris!

I’ve heard that not all airlines will accept screen shots of boarding passes. I don’t have any proof of this, just hearsay.
