Each Friday, we’re featuring a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from reader Onie K., who says:

“This goes along with the Ziploc bags…Roll up your underwear, socks, t-shirts, etc. as small as you can, put them in a Ziploc, sit on it and squeeze all the air out. Presto! You have a flat square to pack—and the items don’t really wrinkle!”

Yep, the uses for Ziploc bags in travel are pretty much endless. Thanks, Onie!

I use the 2.5 gallon bags for shirts and slacks, smaller bags for smaller items. I never have had one of the bags opened. I like the suggestion for a garbage bag to contain all the bags and use as a laundry bag @ my destination.

Yes, plastic zip bags are life savers for sure … what i would really like to know is the “long story” of how you conquered your fear of flying and leaving the house. You could certainly be an inspiration to those of us who have the same fears.
