An important reminder for anyone flying over the holidays

Today’s tip, in the theme of our usual Friday reader tips, comes from a friend of the site: Heather Poole, a flight attendant for a major airline who inspired this week’s app of the week. In last Friday’s #TravelSkills chat, Heather tweeted an important piece of advice for anyone traveling over the holiday season:

“When you’re traveling home for the holidays, don’t forget that the people working at the airport and the crew on your flight aren’t celebrating with their family this year so they can help get you safely to your destination.”

It’s a good reminder and one to carry forward through the new year. On that note, this will be the last travel tip of 2018. We’ll be taking the next week-plus of travel tips off and returning to the usual daily schedule on January 1, 2019. The weekly newsletter, meanwhile, will continue in condensed holiday form for the next two weeks.

Merry Christmas, happy holidays and happy New Year!
