Are you ready to start planning your summer vacation? It’s only April, but you need to book your airfare and lodging now before seats disappear and prices skyrocket. Before you click the buy button, consider applying for one of these new or limited time travel credit cards offers first.

Of course, if you’re just starting out with travel credit cards, you should look at one of these Sapphire credit cards first, because of Chase’s 5/24 rule.

Personal Travel Credit Card Offers

This first section is a list of the best personal travel credit card offers. You will find the best business credit card offers in the second section.

Barclays Arrival Premier [Expired]

Bonus Offer: Up to 75,000 Miles each year (if $25,000 is spent on purchases)

If you prefer flat-rate travel rewards, the Barclays Arrival Premier earns an unlimited two points for every dollar spent. It doesn’t matter if it’s airline tickets, groceries, or a haircut, you earn the same amount for each purchase.

The Barclays Arrival® Premier World Elite Mastercard® doesn’t have a traditional sign-up bonus where you need to spend a specific amount of money within the first 90 days to earn the bonus points. Instead, your bonus is based on your total spending for the card anniversary:

  • Earn your first 15,000 miles ($150 value) when you spend $15,000 each year
  • Earn 75,000 miles by spending $25,000 each year

Because this isn’t a traditional signup bonus, this is the credit card offer that keeps on giving. As long as you own the Barclays Arrival Premier, you have the opportunity to earn 25,000 bonus miles each card anniversary.

Your most valuable point redemption option is travel statement credits as your points are worth one cent each. You can also transfer your points to participating airlines on a 1.3:1 basis. But this effectively makes each point worth less than the statement credit. Until Barclays begins offering 1:1 point transfers, stick with statement credits.

In addition to the generous purchase rewards, Barclays also reimburses your Global Entry or TSA Precheck application fee (a $100 value).

IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card

Bonus Offer: 80,000 IHG points after spending $2,000 in the three months

When you want a free hotel night certificate every card anniversary, go with the IHG® Rewards Club Premier Credit Card that can be redeemed at any hotel that costs 40,000 points or less. This benefit alone exceeds the $89 annual fee. Since free IHG nights start at 5,000 points, you can potentially get 16 free nights from the sign-up bonus.

Cardholders earn 25x points total per $1 spent when you stay at an IHG hotel. Additionally, you will earn 2x points at gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants and 1 point per $1 on everything else.

IHG Rewards Club Traveler (Expired)

Bonus Offer: 60,000 IHG Points after spending $2,000 in three months

If you don’t need the free IHG night, Platinum Elite membership status, or Global Entry fee reimbursement, the IHG Rewards Club Traveler makes an excellent secondary credit card with a $29 annual fee and no foreign transaction fee.

You’ll enjoy the IHG membership benefits:

  • 5x points on all IHG purchases
  • 2x points on gas, groceries, and restaurants
  • 1x points on all remaining purchases
  • 4th night free on 4+ night reward stays
  • Upgrade to Gold Elite status after spending $10,000 in a card membership year

The 60,000 bonus IHG points are worth up to 12 free nights with a very reasonable $2,000 minimum spending requirement.

Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Business (Expired)

Bonus Offer: 60,000 points after spending $3,000 in the first three months

It’s always best to apply for the Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Business as early in the calendar year as possible. That’s because the 60,000 bonus points put you halfway to earning the highly-coveted Southwest Companion Pass. With the Companion Pass, your travel companion flies free for the rest of this year and all of next year; you do have to pay the fees and taxes which are usually $5.60 each way.

In addition to the 60,000 bonus points, you will earn 2 points per $1 on all Southwest and Rapid Rewards partner purchases. These purchase rewards also qualify for earning the Companion Pass too.

The Southwest Premier Business costs $99 a year, but you will receive 6,000 bonus points every card anniversary that is worth a lot more in award flights.

As always, your first two bags fly free and you don’t have to worry about blackout dates or changes fees when booking award flights.

Chase Ink Business Preferred

Bonus Offer: 80,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $5,000 in three months

The Chase Ink Business Preferred has the most valuable sign-up bonus of all the Chase credit cards that earn Ultimate Rewards points. This one has a cash value of $1,000 when redeemed for award travel.

These points are worth 1.25 cents each when redeemed directly through Chase. Or you can transfer them on a 1:1 basis to a Chase Ultimate Rewards travel partner to be worth even more.

You will earn three bonus points on the first $150,000 in combined annual purchases for these purchase types:

  • Travel
  • Shipping
  • Internet, cable, and phone services
  • Social media and search engine advertising

The annual fee is $95 a year for the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card. With this card, you can pool your Ultimate Rewards points to enjoy award travel even sooner!
