For many of us, January is the time to finally get organized at home. And since we’re not traveling right now, it’s the perfect thing to do. New year, new home, right? But where to start? I don’t know about you but there are tons of things I think about organizing but even though I’m home all the time, I still can’t find the time with two little kids, especially tackling bigger jobs like the bathroom cupboards or the kitchen pantry. So it’s easier to start small.

We try to keep our house well stocked with batteries because … technology and toys. But those batteries take up a lot of room and easily become a disorganized mess, rolling around a drawer in the kitchen. This battery caddy is a great solution.

This battery organizer has a compact design, is transparent so you can easily see what’s inside and includes a battery tester, as well. It uses both sides of the case to store 180 different batteries, including 78 AAs, 64 AAAs, 8 9-Volts, 10 Cs, 12 Coin Cells and 8 Ds.

I love this because it keeps all the batteries in one easy-to-find place, which is especially helpful in the event of an emergency or power outage. You’ll know exactly where to find all of your batteries. And it’s great that it includes a battery tester, which my husband and I had been talking about getting anyway. I feel like I’m constantly changing the batteries on our Roku remote but because I’m doing it so frequently, I’m not sure if the problem is the remote or the batteries so a battery tester will help determine if the batteries are still good. And at $19.99, it’s a great deal. Buy it here on Amazon.

Storing batteries safely and correctly is important for their efficacy and for your safety. Here are a few tips:

-Batteries should be stored in a cool, dry place.
-Batteries can leak acid and fluids. If this happens, and it makes contact with your skin or eyes, make sure to rinse well with lots of cold water and seek medical attention.
-Traveling? Remove batteries if you don’t anticipate using a device for an extended period.
-If a device needs multiple batteries, be sure to use batteries that are the same brand, age and type.
