Travel App of the Week: FareScout

FareScoutOne of the big dilemmas when you’re shopping for airfare is trying to figure out if the fare is going to go up or down. Well, there’s a new free app (currently only on iOS) on the market called FareScout which promises to take this kind of guesswork out of the flight-booking process. It searches millions of historical data points to help you better understand the likelihood of your searched fare going up or down.

FareScout’s API connection looks at shopped fares for the past 13 months, and based on that data, the app predicts how much the current fare may rise or fall over the next seven days. It works on flights leaving within the next 60 days, when prices are mostly likely to change on short-notice.

Have you tried it? What do you think?
