Lola Akinmade Åkerström (lolaakinmade)
I’m shocked I’ve never made my friend Lola Akinmade Åkerström (lolaakinmade) our Travel Instagrammer of the Week!
I doublechecked when her name come up in my news feed—for winning SATW’s (Society of American Travel Writers) prestigious Travel Photographer of the Year award. The news was announced at SATW’s annual convention, which this year was in Portland, Oregon (next year will be in Barbados).
Lola is a Stockholm-based writer and photographer, and her Instagram account is very unique as she doesn’t just post one beautiful image at a time. Instead, she posts a series of six (6), one after the other, that combine to become wonderful puzzle-like mega-photos. It’s difficult to explain, so it’s best you just follow her yourself (the screenshot above will also give you an idea).
