Bio: In 1990, Bruce Poon Tip founded G Adventures in order to deliver authentic experiences to travellers who craved adventures beyond all-inclusive resorts. How often do you fly? Whenever I have to but I spend about 150,000 miles a year in the air.

How many countries have you been to? 108 countries.

How many continents have you been to? All seven and numerous times! I visited all seven the year before last year.

Favorite American city? I have a few! San Diego, Portland, Boston and maybe Seattle.

Favorite international city? You can’t hold me to one on these questions! I would say Quito, Hanoi and Hamburg.

Least favorite country? I don’t really have a least favourite country. If I was pressed I would say Burma because of its human rights issues but it is an amazing country to visit.

Favorite airline? Air Canada and Lufthansa

Favorite aircraft type?

I love all planes. Anytime I am going somewhere it’s a good thing!

Aisle or window Window

Favorite airport lounge? Air New Zealand lounges are the best, but if I were to choose an airport, Hong Kong has the best lounges.

Favorite U.S. airport? This is a tough question as US airports are terrible. I would have to say Seattle maybe.

Favorite international airport? Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam.

Favorite hotel? Fairmont Hotels in general but The Plaza in New York is one of their best.

Favorite cruise line? G Adventures’ M/S Expedition of course.

Favorite island? SO many to choose from. These questions are tough! Tobago or The United Kingdom!

Favorite fancy restaurant? Ledbury in London

Favorite hole in the wall? Any pizza by the slice place in New York City.

Favorite travel movie(s): Bill and Ted’s Excellent adventure! Does time travel count?? If not A Passage to India.

Favorite travel show(s): I don’t like travel shows generally. Maybe Earth on Discovery Channel.

Favorite travel book(s):  I dreamed of Africa, Back to Tuichi, The Jesuit and the Dragon, Into thin air.

Five things you bring on a plane? iphone, laptop, wine gums, magazines, headphones.

What do you always seem to forget? A pen.

Favorite travel iPhone app(s):  Air Canada, Food Spotting, the Untourist, Sports Centre, Babelshot.

Favorite travel book(s):  Same as above.

Most embarrassing/worst travel moment:   A flight attendant once spilled a tray of orange juice on me.

What’s your dream destination? I’m into remote areas these days. Mongolia, Antarctica, Galapagos Islands.

Favorite travel website(s) – besides JohnnyJet.com, of course!:  Of course! Gadventures.com, Priceline, STA Travel, Lonely Planet.

Best travel tip: Learn to pack light. Take carry-on only whenever possible. Always watch airlines tag your bag when you check in to make sure the city codes are correct. I had a bag recently travel to Brazil when I was going to Spain!
