Travel Tip of the Day: Be Careful when Speaking about Sensitive Business

PhoneBe Careful when Speaking about Sensitive Business
It still astounds me to hear people speaking really loudly about sensitive business on the phone or to a colleague on a plane, in a club room, at the gate, on a train, or wherever—in any public place. You have no idea who’s listening and in this day and age of social media, you have to assume that everyone is indeed listening at all times. A better idea? Speak really softly or go to a private space to talk about sensitive subjects.

  1. What do you consider “sensitive business”? I feel like everyone has a different definition of that.

  2. Thank you for bringing up this topic. It is part of a larger, societal problem in which people are just talking too loud, not bothering to realize or care that their voices may be intrusive. I think it is a secondary effect of rudeness of cell phone users.
