TableDon’t Leave Your Valuables on the Table
Yesterday’s tip was about not leaving valuables (purse, phone, camera) out in the open when stepping away from, say, the table to go to a buffet or to use the bathroom in a restaurant/café. Today’s tip is related, but maybe not as obvious: Don’t leave your valuables on the table right next to you when you’re sitting at a table outside—especially along a railing where it’s really easy for a passerby to reach out, grab it and take off.

If you do get something swiped, you won’t have much luck getting it back as many times, thieves work in pairs or on scooters. The best thing to do is just keep your valuables out of arm’s reach (of others) to keep them safe. And don’t forget: This can happen in any city, even your hometown.
