How to Block Light from Underneath a Hotel Door
A few weeks ago, I featured a tip about my method for blocking out the light that comes through hotel curtains. Well, sometimes a bigger problem is the light from underneath the hotel room door, which can be even brighter because the space is too large and/or they don’t have sweepers attached at the bottom. What I always do in this case is just grab one of the towels and push it against the door, and that does the trick. Of course, I always carry a sleep mask but I prefer sleeping without one whenever possible.

Have your own method for handling light underneath a hotel door? We got some great reader tips in response to my curtains tip—so be sure to share below!

FYI: I stayed in the hotel room above, at the Outrigger Waikiki, on my visit last January.

Johnny. I find that most hotels have an extra pillow or blanket that I do not need, typically in closet area or a bathroom floor towel that is good for this purpose. I prefer to use those as I don’t trust cleanliness of hotel carpeting and then drying myself with towel I used to block light. I used to do as you are suggesting until I thought about it further.
