Keep Your Music Down
When listening to music on a plane, bus or train, make sure the volume isn’t so loud that your seatmates can hear every beat and word. It’s common courtesy, and it can make the travel experience much better for those around you. I always take my headphones off and hold them at arm’s length to check my own volume, and it works well.
Meanwhile, if a nearby passenger’s music is too loud, don’t be afraid to ask them politely to turn it down—or if you’d prefer, to ask the flight attendant, bus driver or conductor to ask them.
FYI: The headphones seen above—Bose QuietComfort 20i Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones—aren’t the cheapest, but they’re about as good as it gets when it comes to travel headphones.
