Hotel roomRearrange the Hotel Furniture
When I share a hotel room with my dad or a friend, and our room has two small twin beds pushed up next to each other, the first thing I do is move my bed as far away from the other as I can. It’s nothing against the other person; there just aren’t too many people I want to sleep side-by-side with, so the extra space makes for a much better night’s sleep. Don’t be afraid to make yourself comfortable by lightly rearranging the hotel room.

Obviously, you should only move the hotel furniture around if you’re physically able to, and if you can move the furniture without scratching the floor or tearing the carpet. And as a courtesy, always put the furniture back where you found it before you check out.

FYI: I shared the rearranged room above with my dad aboard the Viking Star.

I do this all the time….especially on cruise ships….making the most use of space as I can. And I always return the room to the arrangement that I found it….

Me too, always doing it. I find that sometimes the hotel tends to lay the rooms out what best suits housekeeping rather than the guest. If the room has view, I like to move the bed towards the view so I ca take it in while laying in bed. And also in cases where there are no power-points close to the bed, I always rearrange it. I have to admit though, I have been guilty once or twice of not putting back to it’s original layout when I have left. Woops!
