Travel Tip of the Day: The Wireless Plan All Travelers to Canada and Mexico Need

The Wireless Plan All Travelers to Canada and Mexico Need
I’ve been a huge fan of T-Mobile ever since, in 2014, they introduced free international data and text messaging in over 120 countries, plus all calls in those countries for just 20 cents a minute. Without a doubt, they’re the best US wireless provider for travelers—and they just got even better.

On July 15, T-Mobile introduced a “Mobile without Borders” plan, which extends coverage and calling across North America. That means if you travel to Canada (where I am now) or Mexico, you can treat your phone as you would at home. It doesn’t matter whether you’re calling Mexico City from Toronto or Topeka—it’s now all part of your plan. Get off a plane in Cancun, Chicago or Calgary, and you’ll have the same phone experience for no extra charge!

According to T-Mobile, everyone’s eligible, including Simple Choice postpaid and prepaid customers. Every new Simple Choice customer will automatically get Mexico & Canada included in their plan at no extra charge. Current Simple Choice customers can simply opt in online, by phone, or in-store by switching to the latest plans for free. Business customers can also add coverage and calling across North America to their Simple Choice plan at no extra cost for the first 10 lines and for only $1 a month for each line beyond that.

As someone who travels all the time, especially between the US and Canada, this makes travel so much better and easier for me. I love being able to turn my phone on as soon as I land and not have to worry about roaming charges or finding Wi-Fi. With the updated T-Mobile plan, I can check my email, send texts, make phone calls, and upload to my social networks without worry!
