TSATSA Security Fees Going Up
Beginning today, July 21, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is raising the mandatory passenger fees that help fund security at U.S. airports. The previous fee was $2.50 for a non-stop flight or $5 for a connecting flight, but that will increase to $5.60 for all flights, with any connection over four hours on domestic flights or 12 hours on international flights being counted as a separate flight. To save (a little) money, my advice is to book the least number of long layovers possible. Here’s more on the fee from USA Today.
