Use a Shower Cap to Cover the TV Remote Control
I’ve suggested before that you should wipe down your hotel room using anti-bacterial wipes. Don’t forget that one of the dirtiest items in a hotel room is the TV remote control. In fact, some experts think wiping the remote control down is not enough (that’s how filthy they are). Instead, they suggest covering it with plastic, which the Milestone Hotel in London already does. As I’ve suggested before, you can bring your own plastic bag but if you forget one, here’s a tip: Use the shower cap that’s usually in the bathroom.
BTW: One of my friends is so paranoid about germs that in a moment of desperation, she used a condom from the hotel mini bar when she couldn’t find a shower cap or plastic bag. The craziest part is she forgot to take it off when she checked out. I would’ve loved to have seen the look the housekeeper’s face when they went in to clean!
