The 2015 Paris Air Show is taking place this week, and to kick things off Boeing’s expert pilots took their newest plane—the 787-900 series—destined for Vietnam Airlines’ fleet for a spin. They showed off the new plane’s capabilities, including, most impressively, a near-vertical takeoff! Sadly, if you like roller coasters you’ll be disappointed to know that the regular pilots won’t be performing this stunt on regular flights.
