Before you watch this video, let me say that I’m not trying to make you paranoid. I’m just trying to keep you and your family healthy, and that’s why I’m featuring it as our Travel Video of the Week. TODAY’s correspondent Jeff Rossen and his national investigative team took three different cross-country flights, each on a different major airline, and gathered samples every step of the way. The team applied test kit swabs from the moment they got to the airport to the time they landed and sent the samples off to a certified laboratory for analysis by microbiologists. The results will persuade you to bring a package of antibacterial wipes the next time you hit the road.

I am the original germophobe. I ALWAYS wear gloves and have enough pair to keep them as clean as possible. I get disgusted by women in the ladies’ room who DO NOT WASH THEIR HANDS and on occasion TELL THEM SO. I never touch any surface with a bare hand. I always use a paper towel for toilet doors, sink faucets, etc. And, yes, I am quite healthy.

Yeah, NBC makes you look at a long ad before the video. Just mute it for the 30 seconds
