BonAppetour connects travelers with local chefs and hosts for home-dining experiences all around the world! Experiences can be lunches, brunches, dinners, and even cooking classes. At BonAppetour, they “believe that the experience of dining with locals is a world away from restaurant dining, as it gives travelers an opportunity to discover the city through a local perspective and really immerse into the local culture.”
You can search any city in the world, so I tried a couple beach cities in Los Angeles. Nothing came up for me, but the app asked if I wanted to be the first to host or if I wanted to be notified when someone decides to (via email). Then I put in Rome, Italy, and tons of offers came up, from a $17 breakfast to $86 dinners. With your returns, you can see the bios of the hosts, the languages they speak, user reviews, and whether the hosts are verified or not (not sure how one becomes verified).
I love the concept and think it’s brilliant because I don’t think there’s a better way to learn about a destination or culture than through its people and food. Personally, I would only book with a host that has a good amount of reviews and high ratings.[notice align=center]
Good to know: $25+ off!
First-timers can send their friends a $25 credit, and get a $25 credit for themselves when they dine with BonAppetour or a $75 credit when they host. (My referral is JohnnyJet if you don’t have a friend you want to refer).
See the BonAppetour website for how to sign up as either a guest or a host.
