Women’s Health ran an interesting story recently on hotels as their employees see them. One behind-the-scenes tip—which didn’t surprise me one bit since it’s something I always do—was to lay a towel down on in-room chairs/couches before sitting on them. “Never sit on a couch or chair without laying a towel or sheet down first,” says Jenna, a hotel maid in New York City. “Many guests sit on them naked, and yes, some leave stains behind. And much of the time, the stains are basically just dabbed with cleaner until they can’t be seen anymore.”
