The best balance transfer credit cards are one of the best ways to pay off credit card debt with 0% interest. Being able to make interest-free payments for over a year can save you a small fortune in the process. The best credit cards for balance transfers 2019 offers have 0% APR promotional rates up to 21 months.
The content on this page is accurate as of the posting date; however, some of the offers may have expired.
Best Balance Transfers Credit Cards 2019
Besides looking at how long the interest-free promotion period is, also compare the one-time transfer fee. This fee can be as high as 3% on the amount you transfer. Choosing a card with a lower fee lets you save some additional cash.
Also, keep in mind that you will need to transfer your existing card balance to a card issued by another bank. For instance, you will need to transfer your balance from Chase (like the ones listed in this best Chase credit card list) to a non-Chase bank like Capital One or Citi.
Citi Simplicity Card (Expired)
The Citi Simplicity® Card has one of the longest balance transfer offers. You get 0% APR for 21 months from the date of the first transfer. All transfers must complete in the first 4 months. After that, the variable APR will be 16.24% – 26.24%, based on your creditworthiness.
Although there isn’t an annual fee, the balance transfer fee is relatively high. You will either pay $5 or 5% of the balance transfer, whichever is higher.
Another benefit of this card is that you can choose your payment due date.

Get 0% APR on balance transfers for the first 15 months (variable APR 15.49% – 25.49% thereafter) with the Capital One® Quicksilver® Cash Rewards Credit Card. There is a 3% fee on the amounts transferred within the first 15 months.
One reason to consider getting the Quicksilver is that you also earn 1.5% cash rewards on all purchases. Many balance transfer credit cards don’t offer purchase rewards in order to offer a longer 0% APR introductory period. So if earning cash rewards after the introductory period is something you’d like, this can be a good card to consider.
Otherwise, you might consider some of the best cash back credit cards 2019 if you want to take advantage of that credit card perk.
You won’t pay an annual fee or foreign transaction fee. By spending $500 in the first 3 months of account opening, you also get a one-time $150 cash bonus.
