Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card - BannerChase Ink Business Preferred Review

Many will argue that Chase currently holds the crown in the personal credit card arena because of the Chase Sapphire and Freedom credit card families that earn Chase Ultimate Rewards, although their various co-branded travel rewards cards aren’t too shabby either. Chase’s Ink business credit card offerings are very competitive as well and Chase has directly challenged the Business Gold Card from American Express and other Amex business cards with its Ink Business Preferred which it launched late last year.

Here are the Chase Ink Business Preferred’s Details

Chase Ink Preferred Bonus

The sign-up bonus for the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card will be 80,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $5,000, that can be worth $1,000 when redeemed for travel rewards through Chase’s website. This bonus is the highest public Chase credit card bonus for their Ultimate Rewards branded products.

Annual Fee

The annual fee for the new Ink Preferred will be $95 annually.

Purchase Rewards

With the Ink Business Preferred, Chase is paying out a flat reward rate of 3 UR points per $1 on the first $150,000 spent on the following categories:

  • Travel Purchases
    • Similar to the Chase Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve that earn points on airfare, rental car, hotels, taxis, etc.
  • Shipping Purchases
  • Advertising on search engines and social media
  • Select internet, TV, or Phone Services

All other purchases, plus additional purchases made from the bonus categories after maximizing the spending bonus, will earn 1 point per dollar spent.

When redeemed for travel rewards, each Chase point will be worth 1.25 cents each, the same value as the Chase Sapphire Preferred, and 1 cent for all other rewards.

Additional Benefits of the Chase Ink Business Preferred

In addition to the sign-up bonus and purchase rewards, Chase Ink Preferred cardholders will also have the opportunity to enjoy the following benefits:

Cell Phone Insurance

Can receive up to $1,800 in coverage if you pay for any cell phone line with the Chase Ink Business Preferred.  A $100 deductible applies, but, eligible expenses can be related to theft or damage. Chase will permit up to three claims per year per cardholder.  As Chase pays 3 points for cell phone expenses, this is a benefit that an overwhelming majority of cardholders will have access to, and makes the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card a great card to purchase the new iPhone with.

Primary Rental Car Collision Damage Waiver Insurance

Another handy perk offered by other top-tier credit cards, CDW insurance is a benefit that is increasing in popularity.  It can help you save money on rental cars and an additional incentive to book all future rental car purchases with the Ink Preferred, in addition to the opportunity to earn 3 bonus points in the bonus travel reward category.

Travel Insurance

This benefit will probably be identical or very similar to the Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve that includes trip cancellation/interruption insurance that reimburses up to $10,000 per trip and trip delay insurance that begins offsetting certain incidental expenses after 6 hours of delay (Sapphire Reserve) or 12 hours (Sapphire Preferred).

Chase Purchase Protection

Cardholders will also enjoy the purchase protection benefits offered by Chase included the extended warranty for 3 years after the initial purchase, price protection if the price drops within the first 90 days of purchase, protection from damage, theft, or rejected merchant returns.
