London’s Daily Mail wrote a story warning travelers not to bring their electronic cigarettes or vape pens with them on their trips to some countries. Although e-cigarettes might be healthier than smoking tobacco, it’s definitely wise to find out what the e-cigarette and vaping laws are before traveling internationally with them. For example:
- Thailand has banned e-cigarettes completely. There, punishment ranges from confiscation to ten years in prison.
- Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Singapore have also banned vaping completely.
- Brazil bans the manufacture and sale of e-cigarettes.
- Uruguay has a total ban on both vaping and e-cigarettes.
- The UAE prevents vaping equipment being brought in and will confiscate at the airport.
- Jordan and Qatar has banned e-cigarettes completely.
Some places, including Hong Kong, allow the use of e-cigarettes as long as they don’t contain nicotine. Moral of the tip? Find out what the local laws are before leaving home. For more see the MailOnline’s map that details where vaping is currently banned or restricted across the world.
