Do you go out to eat frequently? If your credit card only earns one point on dining rewards, you may want to look at other options. Many credit cards offer bonus points for dining that help you get more rewards in return. Since food is part of our everyday expenses, getting bonus points on restaurant purchases is an easy way to maximize your credit card benefits. Here is a list of dining rewards credit card options.
Get At Least 5x Points With a Hilton Credit Card
Co-brand travel rewards cards tend to offer the best dining rewards. The one tradeoff is that you can only redeem your points for award travel with that particular airline or hotel.
For dining rewards, the Hilton credit cards have some of the most robust rewards at U.S. restaurants:
- 5x points: Hilton Honors Credit Card
- 6x points: Hilton Honors Ascend Card
- 7x points: Hilton Honors Aspire Card
Get 4% Back with the Uber Visa Card
The Uber Visa Card takes a top prize by earning 4% dining rewards on the following:
You also get 3% back on hotel and airfare, 2% back on Uber and online purchases, and 1% back for everything else.
Your points are worth one cent each and can be redeemed for Uber rides, cash back, and gift cards.
Tip: Get an extra $200 in Uber credit and 5x back on airline purchases with the American Express Platinum.
Dining Rewards Credit Card List: 3x Points
Most credit cards earn 2x points on dining purchase, but some rewards cards offer a little more value.
Chase Sapphire Reserve
The Chase Sapphire Reserve earns 3x points on all travel and dining purchases and is a perfect match if you like to travel. As a premium travel rewards card, you also get some luxurious travel benefits including a $300 travel credit and airport lounge access.
If triple bonus point isn’t enough, your rewards points are usually worth more than with the Sapphire Reserve. Most credit card rewards points are only worth 1 cent each. With the Sapphire Reserve, your points are worth 1.5 cents each when redeemed for travel. You can also transfer them directly to your airline or hotel loyalty account where they can be worth 2 cents each! If you’re keeping track of the math, that’s double the average redemption value.
Some of the Chase Sapphire transfer partners include Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, and Hyatt. More information about the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
Bonus Recommendation: If you don’t need the premium travel benefits, you can also get the Chase Sapphire Preferred. It only earns 2 points on dining, but still has the 1:1 transfer option and a travel redemption bonus.
Capital One Savor Rewards
This credit card earns an unlimited 3% dining rewards and 2% back on grocery purchases. You won’t pay a foreign transaction fee or annual fee either. It’s not a bad option for items that are frequently purchased.

Dining Rewards Credit Card List: 2x Points
Most credit cards with bonus dining rewards offer 2 points per $1 spent.
Chase Ink Business Cash
The Ink Business Cash earns 2% back on the first $25,000 in combined spending for restaurants and gas stations. It also earns 5% back at office supply stores and internet, phone, and cable purchases. All non-bonus purchases earn 1% back.
Your rewards points are worth 1 cent each for cash or travel rewards, but you might consider a Chase credit card combination to make your Ink Business Cash rewards points worth more for award travel.
United(SM) Explorer Card
For a long time, airline rewards cards only paid one point on dining purchases. That’s started to change as the competition continues to heat up!
The United(SM) Explorer Card now earns 2x points on dining and hotel stays. You can also get a 25% back on United in-flight food and beverage purchases.
American Airlines Citi/AAdvantage Platinum Select
Get 2x points at every restaurant with the Citi/AAdvantage Platinum Select. You will also earn double points for gas station and American Airlines purchases. In-flight food and beverages on AA planes are eligible for a 25% statement credit.
Another new benefit is getting a $100 American Airlines flight credit when you spend at least $20,00 in total card purchases each year.

The IHG Premier Credit Card earn 2x points on dining, groceries, and gas stations. IHG hotel purchases earn 10 points per $1. Additional IHG travel benefits include:
- Free anniversary hotel night certificate
- Fourth night free on 4+ night reward stays
- IHG Platinum Elite status
- TSA Precheck/Global Entry application fee reimbursement
Chase recently launched the IHG Traveler Credit Card that has a smaller annual fee. It still earns double dining rewards, but on 5x point on IHG stays only.
Hyatt Credit Card [EXPIRED]
The Hyatt Credit Card earns 3x points on Hyatt purchases and 2x points on dining, airline tickets, and rental cars. It arguably has the best free hotel night certificate too that lets you stay at any Category 1-4 Hyatt property each year.
Marriott Rewards Premier Plus
The Marriott Rewards Premier Plus doesn’t have a bonus dining category, but it earns 2 points on all non-Marriott purchases. All Marriott Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest purchases earn 6 points per dollar spent. This card also comes with a free anniversary night certificate too and accelerated Marriott Rewards membership status.
Capital One Venture
Most reward credit cards offer tiered rewards categories. That’s how dining rewards earn more points with some cards than others. The Capital One Venture is a flat-rate travel reward credit card that earns 2x points on every purchase, but Hotels.com purchases get a 10x bonus.
You can’t transfer your rewards points to the airline or hotel program of choice, but since you earn 2x points on every purchase, you might be able to accumulate them sooner than with a tiered rewards card. Your points can be redeemed for travel purchases or used to book future travel with the Capital One travel portal.

Citi Double Cash
If you prefer cash rewards to travel rewards, the Citi Double Cash gets 2% back on every purchase. You can redeem your rewards for cash statement credits. Citi will even pay your first late fee in case you forget to make a payment. That’s a nice perk that comes with this dining rewards credit card.

It doesn’t matter if you prefer travel rewards or cash rewards, you have many options to earn bonus dining rewards. Thankfully, choosing the best card is easier than deciding what to pick from the menu tonight!
