Passport photos can be a pain—but they don’t have to be. Passport Booth is a free app for iOS and Android that helps you take 2″ x 2″ photos to use in a passport, visa, student ID, and more.

To use it, you simply find a white background and follow the app’s prompts to take the photo you need. The app provides requirements for photos that will end up on federal and formal documents, including passport photos, so you can review them before proceeding. Once you have a photo you’re happy with, you can save it, email it to yourself or send it off to be printed. If you do print, you can pick them up at a pharmacy for just $0.50 each or have them shipped to you for $5.95.

    Hi Johnny,
This recently happened to me just last week. While packing for a four week trip to South Africa, I don’t know why, but I threw in two cell l phone chargers in my bag, something I’ve never done before. Well once in South Africa, I soon discovered that I needed a three prong adapter to charge my phone. I purchased the adapter, and I connected the U.S. Adapter. It worked just fine, for a couple days. Then, inexplicably, the US connector stop working. I switched the connector and it worked fine for the duration of my trip. Had I not brought a seconadapter with me, it would’ve been a disaster, because I must have gone to 10 electronic shops there, and I could not find a US adapter.
