How a garbage bag can help you pack betterEach Friday, we feature a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from reader Lynne F. of Dunedin, FL:

“When traveling, I pack everything in my suitcase inside a large garbage bag. That way if the suitcase gets soaked in the rain (like mine did once in Bethel, Alaska) or torn/ripped (like mine did once in Europe) then the contents are protected. Also, you have a garbage bag to use as an emergency poncho.”

Great tip! I’ve done it myself. Thanks, Lynne!

Packing everything inside a garbage bag would also help prevent bedbugs.
