Keep your stuff safe at the grocery storeI posted an image recently on my Instagram account of the produce section of a grocery store. I asked my friends if I was a weirdo because I love to visit grocery stores when I travel to get a sense of place. Most of my friends said that they love going to them, too.

But what’s crazy is that the store I snapped the pic in was a Whole Foods in Los Angeles, and I just saw on the local news that a brazen thief was literally snatching wallets from women’s purses just a few inches away from me. My takeaway from this is that you should never leave your purse/wallet in a shopping cart. You should always hold it in front of you, no matter where you are. It doesn’t matter if you’re in the airport, a grocery store or even a church (believe it or not a woman I know was pickpocketed in a church in Germany during Palm Sunday mass)!

Because I had my wallet stolen from my purse at a Trader Joe’s, I now make sure my purse is zipped and “strapped in” with the child safety belt in the grocery cart.
