M life Rewards will officially assume its new name of MGM Rewards on February 1, 2022.

In addition to the name change, the loyalty program is offering more rewards for non-gaming guests at the 20+ casino hotels across the country. Previously, the best rewards were for the gaming guests that spent big money on the casino floor.

Some of the iconic portfolio locations include:

  • Bellagio
  • Aria
  • MGM Grand
  • Mandalay Bay
  • Borgata (Atlantic City)
  • Beau Rivage (Mississippi)
  • MGM National Harbor (Maryland)

You may have stayed at one of these in the past.

Earn MGM Rewards Points

You will earn MGM Rewards points when you play, stay, and dine at MGM properties. This rewards currency was previously known as Express Comps.

Your existing Express Comps balance converts to MGM points on a 1:1 basis.

It’s possible to redeem your MGM Rewards for these awards:

  • Hotel stays
  • Food and beverage
  • Spas

You can also earn Slot Dollars when you play slots and video lottery terminals. This currency is formerly known as POINTPLAY and lets you get free game rounds.

MGM Rewards Loyalty Tiers

The Tier Status levels will remain the same. Here are some of the featured benefits:

  • Sapphire (Discounts on select shows)
  • Pearl (MGM Rewards points and Slot Dollars won’t expire and complimentary concert tickets)
  • Gold (Waived resort fees and tier appreciation events)
  • Platinum (4 p.m. late checkout, advanced suite upgrades for up to 3 nights)
  • NOIR (Up to $1,200 air travel credit in Las Vegas per year and complimentary airport shuttle)

You must earn the same number of Tier Credits each year to climb the loyalty level. One positive change is that you only need 20,000 credits (instead of 25,000) to achieve Pearl status.

Limited-Time Promotions

Here are some of the other limited-time promotions to help you celebrate the program refresh:

  • Tier Credit multiplier: Earn 2x tier credits at qualifying Las Vegas resorts from February 1, 2022, to April 30, 2022.
  • Extended earning window: Tier credits you earn from January 1, 2022, to January 31, 2022, count toward 2022 and 2023 Tier Status requirements

You can also earn bonus rewards through other travel brands including World of Hyatt, Southwest Airlines, and Avis Rental Cars. For example, you can enjoy fast-track MGM Rewards status if you have qualifying Hyatt elite status.

Summary

In conclusion, these changes to the MGM Rewards program have an overall positive effect. While the program is still easiest to maximize if you’re a casino gamer, non-gamers can also earn rewards they can redeem for free nights and other on-site perks. There are several exciting destinations within this portfolio. Additionally, the loyalty redesign provides more incentives to visit.
