Short bio: Long history as young entrepreneur selling my first online business as 14-years old. Founded LuggageHero in 2016 after dragging around my own luggage too many times. So I decided to create a peer-to-peer economy-sharing concept that is easy to use, trustworthy, and where customers pay only for the hours their luggage is stored. Luggage storage sites are located inside existing businesses, including retail outlets, hotels, cafes, and more. I started in my hometown of Copenhagen, and later expanded to London and New York City in 2017.

How often do you fly? 3-5 times a month

How many countries have you been to? A lot! I stopped counting after 30!

How many continents have you been to? Four continents.

Earliest travel memory: My parents took me on my first flight trip domestically to Legoland in Billund at seven-years old.

Favorite American city: LA.

Favorite international city: Kuala Lumpur—for climbing and culture.

Least favorite country: Bulgaria—don’t go to Sunny Beach after graduating!

I have no desire to go to: Never thought about really. Would go anywhere if someone paid me to.

Friendliest people in the world: I would say Danes first, but by second thought I would actually say that Americans are much more open-minded and not as judgmental as Danes.

Country with the meanest immigration officers: Luckily never stroked me as a problem.

Favorite World Heritage Site: Angkor Wat I think.

Favorite airline: Emirates—as they love kids.

Favorite aircraft type: Airbus I think. Whatever plane has Wi-Fi—please!

Aisle or window: Window is fine but always best to in the aisle.

Favorite airport lounge: Not arrived at one yet worth talking about. I was denied access to one in Iceland after flying in 16 hours and waiting 10 hours to my next plane.

Favorite U.S. airport: Really?

Favorite international airport: Kuala Lumpur.

Favorite hotel: I’d rather stay in an apartment.

Favorite cruise line: Not really me thing. Only tried one which was Copenhagen-Oslo Scandic (two days).

Favorite travel credit card: I don’t like credit cards as I know how much they charge me. But I always have my Visa and Mastercard on me.

Favorite island: Koh Lanta (Thailand) back in 2012. Now I can’t tell you ;-)

Favorite beach: Ssshhh… ;-)

Favorite National Park: Bako National Park (Borneo).

Favorite fancy restaurant: Restaurant Noma in Copenhagen (just got too expensive now after getting a Michelin star).

Favorite hole-in-the-wall: A hole-in-the-wall would be something I climbed. I love climbing.

Favorite airport restaurant: 7-Eleven.

Favorite bar: I am of a wine guy so any basement where I can drink a glass of wine.

Favorite fruit: Give me a banana and I am happy.

Favorite food: Everything my girlfriend cooks!

Least favorite food: Please don’t serve me pork patties.

Drink of choice (in the air and on the ground): Beer—wheat beer or IPA.

Favorite travel movie(s): Not really my thing to remember a movie for that. But I like Top Gun if that counts.

Favorite travel show(s): Tricky one. Does that even exist?

Favorite travel podcast(s): Again, I must go out more.

Favorite travel book(s): Don’t read much to be honest. I once had a crush on Lonely Planet books until I realized everyone had the same itinerary.

Top 3 favorite travel newsletters/magazines/blogs:

Favorite travel website(s)—besides JohnnyJet.com, of course!

  • Yes of course JohnnyJet.com!
  • Secondly you should really subscribe to Skift and follow the newsletter. I mean it! It’s good.
  • Don’t know so many other travel websites.

5 things you bring on a plane:

Laptop, Bose headphones and your Nomatic travel back. Two last things would probably be a pair of warm socks (must count for two items).

What do you always seem to forget? To eat before I go.

What do you like least about travel? Different time zones.

What do you want your loved one to buy you from an airport Duty Free store? Don’t fancy it too much. But I always buy trains for my son when I travel overseas and that is first priority. So maybe that would be something I asked for…

Favorite travel app(s): Citymapper! Lyft or Uber.

Most embarrassing travel moment: Accidently tried to onboard a wrong plane.

I’m embarrassed I haven’t been to: Africa!

Worst travel moment: Bulgaria, Sunny Beach. Just don’t!

What’s your dream destination? All Southeast Asia!

Favorite travel charity: I don’t know that many but I often donate my leftover currencies in the airport. But I don’t know what it’s for.

Best travel tip: Oh that’s easy! Never drag your bags around the city on a holiday! Use a LuggageHero!
