I’m a pretty practical packer. Especially now that I have kids. But even before I was a mom, I’d learned the benefits of being a streamlined, organized packer (I was a carry-on only traveler in those days). However, practicality can often come at the expense of luxury, but I’ve found one way to combine the two.

Volprive is a woman-owned company based in Montreal, Canada. They make luxurious, high-end travel accessories for the style conscious traveler, that beautifully marry together both form and function.

According to their website: “Volprivé is committed, through research and development, to creating high-end travel and relaxation accessories for the discerning traveler who does not wish to compromise on comfort when leaving their home environment. Volprivé accessories, made of extra-fine merino wool, have been conceived and designed to travel the world, accompany you in all your moments of relaxation and keep you warmly company, like confidants. Each accessory is washable and can be carried in a sturdy and stylish Volprivé bag. Durable, practical and versatile, this is the trademark of Volprivé.”

In your hands, the products are as luxurious as they sound. The Destination and Relaxation Travel Set comes with a blanket made with 100% extra fine merino wool, a compact memory foam travel pillow with a matching 100% merino wool cover and an adjustable sleep mask, made of merino wool and a bamboo blend. It all comes neatly packaged in a dry bag that’s easy to fold down and stow when not in use. The blanket and pillow cover are machine washable so you can get those nasty airplane germs off when you get home.

You can purchase the products individually if you don’t need the entire set and there are other great products in the line, like a 100% merino wool shawl, face masks and travel candles.

Travel has changed dramatically in recent years. The emergence of Covid and all the new processes and procedures that have been put in place can cause added stress for travelers so it’s nice to know that once you get on the plane, you have a secret stash of comfort in your bag. These products are expensive (this travel set is $350) but it’s a premium, made-in-Canada product crafted with luxurious fabrics that will make you feel calm and cozy, whether you’re settling in for a flight or making yourself comfy in your hotel room. And even though these products are designed for travel, I use my set at home for the ultimate luxe experience but you’ll want to bring it along on road trips or to the cottage because cozy comfort is never out of place, no matter where you are.
